On February 22, 2006, State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with the delegation of Japan's ruling party headed by Hidenao Nakagawa, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party's Policy Research Council and Yoshihisa Inoue, Chairman of the Komei Party's Policy Research Council in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Tang Jiaxuan welcomed the delegation to attend the first meeting of China-Japan Ruling Parties Exchange Mechanism. Both sides had a candid exchange of views on China-Japan relations.
